The record
A material factual error is one that changes what an operator would do: a wrong figure, a misattributed claim, an event framed as something it was not. When we find one, or a reader does, the article is corrected in place with a dated note at the point of the fix.
The email is immutable once sent. A correction to a shipped edition lands in the next edition and on the article, never by silently editing history.

August 24, 2026 · Edition #69 was not published. A formatting issue triggered our pre-send checks and stopped this morning's brief. We corrected the failure path and added a shorter fallback for future interruptions. #69 remains on the record as not published. Edition #70 is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 AM ET.

What was wrong: the edition shipped 4.3%. The fix: the correct figure is 4.2%, per the primary source.
Bound source (CNBC) misreported May CPI; BLS primary and recent-history majority say 4.2%. Caught by postmortem; Gate 49 now halts this class.
